CodingPrep is engineered as a clean, distraction-free, 100% offline technical interview preparation suite. We believe that your study habits, progress, and interview preparation are strictly your own personal business. This Privacy Policy explains accurately and transparently how the application handles data.
Zero network calls. The android.permission.INTERNET permission is not even requested.
No Google AdMob, Unity, or third-party ad networks. No banner ads, interstitials, or tracking tokens.
No Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or third-party tracking libraries installed.
Progress, bookmarks, and mock test scores reside exclusively in your local device sandbox.
CodingPrep (com.codingprep.app) is a client-side offline educational Android application built with Flutter.
It provides computer science study materials (54 Data Structure & Algorithm coding challenges, 16 algorithmic patterns, 120+ CS concepts across OOP, DBMS, OS, Computer Networks, and System Design, 32 SQL challenges, and 64 technical & behavioral interview questions with mock interview simulations).
CodingPrep operates completely client-side. We do not operate remote user databases, authentication backends, or analytics servers. We never collect, store, transmit, monetize, sell, or disclose your personal data to anyone.
Unlike many apps that collect background telemetry or require accounts, CodingPrep is designed from the ground up without data collection mechanisms. Specifically, CodingPrep does NOT collect:
To allow you to resume your study sessions seamlessly across app launches, CodingPrep saves minimal learning preferences locally on your physical device hardware using Android's standard SharedPreferences storage (via the Flutter shared_preferences plugin).
This data is stored strictly in your device's private application sandbox. It is never transmitted across the network, never backed up to remote servers by us, and cannot be read by other applications on non-rooted devices.
| Storage Key | Data Stored | Purpose | Destination |
|---|---|---|---|
solved_problems |
Array of problem ID strings (e.g., ["two_sum", "reverse_linked_list"]) |
Displays checkmarks on coding challenges you marked as solved. | Local Device Only |
bookmarks |
Array of bookmarked ID strings (e.g., ["problem_1", "pattern_sliding_window"]) |
Populates your custom Bookmarks reference library. | Local Device Only |
recent_history |
Array of recently viewed problem/topic IDs (capped at 20 items) | Enables the "Recent Activity" and "Recent Access Stream" widgets. | Local Device Only |
streak_count |
Integer (e.g., 5) |
Tracks consecutive daily study streak count to encourage learning. | Local Device Only |
last_active_date |
Calendar date string (YYYY-MM-DD) |
Calculates whether streak continues today or was broken. | Local Device Only |
mock_interview_scores |
JSON array of up to 20 past mock test sessions (Score, Total, Seconds, Date) | Calculates your interview readiness score in developer metrics. | Local Device Only |
theme_mode |
String ("dark", "light", or "system") |
Remembers your visual theme preference (Terminal Dark vs Clean Light). | Local Device Only |
CodingPrep includes a convenience button in the code viewer allowing you to copy code snippets (Python, Java, C++) to your device clipboard. Clipboard access is solely user-initiated and local; the app never reads your existing clipboard data.
Android permissions allow applications to access hardware capabilities or private user data. CodingPrep follows the principle of absolute least privilege.

Many mobile apps embed third-party software development kits (SDKs) for monetization or telemetry. CodingPrep includes zero third-party tracking SDKs:
The only libraries bundled with CodingPrep are the core Flutter framework engine and the standard Flutter shared_preferences plugin for reading and writing local settings.
Because all learning records are stored solely on your own device, you possess 100% full, uncompromised control over your data at all times. You do not need to submit a ticket, wait 30 days, or verify your identity to purge your data.
You can delete your data in any of the following ways:
Settings (via the gear icon in the top app bar) → scroll to STORAGE & CACHE CONTROLS → tap "PURGE LOCAL PROGRESS DATA" → confirm "PURGE ALL". This immediately resets all solved problems, active streak counts, bookmarks, and mock test scores from SharedPreferences.
Settings → Apps → CodingPrep → Storage & cache → tap "Clear Storage" (or "Clear Data"). This erases all local application data instantly.
Google Play requires developers to complete a Data Safety form in the Google Play Console to disclose whether their app collects or shares user data. For complete transparency, below is the exact declaration corresponding to CodingPrep:
CodingPrep is an educational programming preparation application intended for computer science students, software engineers, and general programming enthusiasts.
We comply fully with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and related child protection standards. CodingPrep does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 in the European Union). Because the application collects no personal information whatsoever from any user, it is entirely safe for users of all ages.
Because CodingPrep does not transmit data over the internet or store data on remote cloud servers, your information is naturally insulated against standard web vulnerabilities, server breaches, Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks, and unauthorized database intrusions.
On your device, the Android operating system enforces strict sandboxing: application data stored via SharedPreferences is assigned a unique Linux user ID (UID) accessible only by CodingPrep.
We encourage users to protect their devices with standard lock-screen security (PIN, pattern, or biometric password).
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), privacy laws provide users with specific legal rights regarding their personal information:
